Your child has expressed interest in representing the school in the Harbour Hockey College (Year 9 and 10) Competition.
We are still awaiting confirmed information for the 2024 College Hockey season but to help with planning purposes we are requesting all players interested in playing in the 2024 season to complete the Expression of Interest form.
The below details are from the 2023 season to give you an indication of details. (2024 details will be provided as soon as they are available)
2023 COMPETITION PLAYING DAY AND TIME
Boys - Wednesdays between 4pm - 7.30pm
Girls - Thursdays between 4pm - 7.30pm.
VENUE
Harbour Hockey Stadium, 159 Bush Road, Albany and various venues that could include Rangitoto School, Kristin School, Westlake Girls and Mahurangi.
TRAINING
Teams will have a minimum of one training per week, which will be held on the school turf either before or after school. Training days and times will be advised once teams and coaches confirmed.
TRIALS
Details to be advised,
UNIFORM
Boys - AJHS hockey shirt will be provided, AJHS PE shorts (Navy) and AJHS Maroon socks (Socks available to purchase for $21.00 from AJHS uniform shop).
Girls - AJHS hockey dress will be provided and AJHS Maroon socks (Socks available to be purchased for $21.00 from AJHS uniform shop).
Both shirts and dresses are to be returned at the completion of the season.
TRANSPORT
It is the responsibility of parent/caregivers to either transport their child to the games and trainings each week or to arrange for another parent/caregiver to transport them. The school does not provide transport for this competition.
REGISTRATION FEE
To be advised once competition details are confirmed.
COMPULSORY ADMINISTRATION FEE
$25.00 (One payment of $25.00 will be charged regardless of the number of sports played)

For this length of time and at this level of competition each school team requires a coach and a manager.
As a coach you will be required to take a minimum of one training per week and also be available at the games. For team training's the school's facilities would be available for use before or after school. Standard training times are either 7.30am in morning or 3.30pm to 4.30pm after school.
Managers are required to organise the team, ensuring all players and parents/caregivers are aware of game times and trainings. It is preferable that the manager also attends games each week.
Without parent volunteers it is impossible for teams to participate in the competition so if you are available to assist with either role please tick the appropriate box on the form.
To assist with planning please complete the Expression of Interest form by Thursday the 29th of February 2024.
