Racing a Tornado!
The day started out beautiful. Maria and I went for a long bike ride. Little did we know we would end up racing a tornado!
We rode far away from home. Then the temperature suddenly dropped. The sky turned a dark greenish color. A very strong wind started to blow. A blue car pulled up beside us. "Get in!" the driver said. It was my aunt. She looked very scared. We got in the car.
It's a good thing we did. Pieces of hail the size of golf balls hit the car. Maria looked over her shoulder and screamed, "Tornado!" The tornado was so close I could see doors and trees spinning around in it! My aunt was going as fast as she could. But she know that she couldn't outrun the tornado. She saw a bridge. She stopped the car. We all ran to get under the bridge. We laid flat, pressed up against the wall of the bridge. Then the tornado hit the bridge. It sounded like a train. It quickly passed by. The bridge held. We were safe.
What a story I would have to tell at school!
