2023 Potted Tree Request Form
Sorry   All potted trees have now been claimed.    If you requested trees but haven't completed the survey posted on our Facebook Page for potted trees yet, please do.  We want to be sure that residents are requesting the right tree for the right place.  Sunlight and watering conditions are very important.  These trees will be distributed on Saturday April 22nd at the same place as the bare root seedlings, 134 Woodrow St. in West Hartford.  They will be 3 to 6 feet tall in 2 gallon pots and can fit into an average car.  Because of this manageable size, we will not be delivering them as originally planned.  Also, you will need to plant these trees yourself or hire someone to do so.  We are hosting a tree planting workshop on April 1 from noon to 2 pm at Westmoor Park.  We can also recommend Liz Pang's Luna Tree Care for planting.  They will charge approximately $50 to professionally plant each tree.   Please limit to two potted tree requests per address.  Update:  All potted trees have now been claimed.

We have reached our limit of chokecherry trees.  Please consider ordering another tree.  Chokecherry (Prunus virginiana) plants straddle the line between tall shrub and small tree - making them a perfect fit for smaller spaces and front yards.  They may be grown singly, in clumps, or as a hedge.  They typically reach 15 to 20 ft. in height, and may be pruned to encourage either a low or high form. This tree is a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to water/sun/soil - it tolerates dry - moist, shade-Full Sun, and clay, sand, and loam.   Beautiful flowers in spring. Berries appear in summer, ripen thru fall, and persist till winter.  Single trees will bear fruit, but several together will bear more.  This species is a magnet for birds, pollinators, and butterflies.  The genus, Prunus, is the number 3 ranked tree in the US for the number of lepidoptera (caterpillars, butterflies, moths) supported by their foliage.        *
