Teen DBT Group 2024
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a highly effective and compassionate treatment for teens struggling with intense emotions (anxiety, anger, depression, etc.), impulsive behavioral patterns, unstable relationships, strained parent/child relationships, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and more.

Throughout the group, teens will learn skills for tolerating distress (without making the moment worse), regulating emotions, effectively navigating difficult interpersonal relationships, and finding balance in their family relationships. Our upcoming module will be focused on effectively naming, understanding, and regulating emotions.

****Parents are asked to join in-person for the final session of each 7-week module to learn new material together with their teen. Parents will be asked to join on May 9th for this next module.

Research has consistently shown that DBT for teens is most effective when treatment includes education/coaching for parents and caregivers. This is why our comprehensive program includes a parenting workshop, where parents will not only learn what their teens are learning, but where parents can workshop specific problems/stuck areas with qualified DBT therapists.

The parenting workshop is held weekly online, and includes pre- and post-assessment measures, a "diary card" for parents/caregivers that helps them identify strengths and problem areas as well as track progress, and access to real-time phone coaching.

This combination of attention to your family both in the teen skills group and via the parenting workshop is what makes this a powerful program that can help you zero in on actual changes you want to see in your teens and in your relationships with them. We are excited to join you as you transform old patterns and ways of relating into something closer to what you truly want.
