2022 Camp Bethel Counselor-in-Training Application (new & returning CIT applicants)
ALLOW YOURSELF ENOUGH TIME TO THOROUGHLY FILL OUT THIS APPLICATION (~ 45 minutes).  We are accepting CIT applications, and we will begin filling CIT positions after March 1, so apply NOW or ASAP!

Directions for ALL CIT (new and returning) applicants:

1. You MUST involve your parent/guardian in this application process.  Involve them in your decision to apply.  Be sure they know your time/training commitments and the minor policy if you are hired.

2.  BEFORE completing this application, you AND your parent/guardian must read the following 2 documents: (a)  the most up-to-date Summer Camps Brochure at: www.CampBethelVirginia.org/camps.html; (b) 2022 Summer Staff Information (including position description, staff policies, etc.)  at: www.CampBethelVirginia.org/summer-staff. (Please pay particularly close attention to the "COVID-19 Safety Adaptations and Policies" section).

3.  Email the Recommendation Form link (https://forms.gle/H3Eyj9jYQR35i6Vy6) to 3 persons recommending you:  [1 Employer/Teacher Reference, 1 Minister/Character Reference, and 1 Additional Character/Teacher Reference]. Do NOT use family members, friends, significant others, or current Camp Bethel staff as references. Your application is NOT complete and will not be reviewed until your 3 persons have submitted a recommendation for you. We suggest that all recommendations are returned within 2 weeks of the application. Be sure the persons filling out your references know what position you are applying for.

4. Along with your application answers, send the following (mailed or emailed) to Camp Bethel: (a) photocopy/scan showing your driver's license, if applicable; (b) photocopy/scan of any current certification cards, if applicable; (c) a recent photo (digitally or printed) of you, and (d) a scan/image of your most recent report card showing your overall GPA (minimum 2.0 required).

Prerequisites: In order to be considered to serve as a C.I.T. at Camp Bethel, you must…

1. Be at least 15 years old when you serve this summer, and
2. Have a minimum GPA of 2.0. E-mail a scan/image of your most current report card to us at CampBethelOffice@gmail.com, and
3. Submit this application and be "hired" for service by the Camp Director; and
4. Have ensured that your 3 recommendations have been submitted, because without them your application is NOT complete, and
5. Be fully enrolled/registered in at least one 2022 camp week for which you are age-eligible, and
6. Attend a 4-day training and experience practicum on Tuesday, June 14 at 10:00am through Friday, June 17 at  6:30pm (or if your school schedule prohibits full attendance, make arrangements with our Program Staff for alternate training).
