Thursday, March 5, 20248:30-10:00 a.m. Prospective Family Visits

Welcome to Westland!

We invite prospective parents and students to visit our awesome school several times throughout the year. Shadowing opportunities are available for a limited number of students on March 5. The target students for shadowing are new to the area, coming from a private school, or considering discrete MCPS programs. We are unable to offer shadow experiences for students from our feeder schools. These students WILL have an opportunity to visit Westland as a field trip in the spring.

  • From 8:30-8:40 a.m. we will pair each prospective student with a current Westland student.
  • From 8:40-9:50 a.m. students will attend two classes together.  (Meanwhile, parents can attend an info session/Q & A with the principal and Middle Years Programme Coordinator.)
  • At 9:55 we will take a brief tour of the building.
Plenty of parking is available in our bus loop area. Please do not park in the Little Falls Library parking lot. If you have questions that need answers BEFORE the coffee - please call Westland at 240-740-5850.

*Please note that if school is canceled or on a 2 hour delay the event will not take place*

Westland has a limited capacity to offer shadow experiences for students.  Students who attend Bethesda, Westbrook and Somerset are NOT eligible for the shadow experience (as those students will be invited to an open house in May). All requests for shadow experience should be considered tentative until confirmed by Westland. *
How many adults will be joining the Parent session from 8:30-9:50? (Feel free to have younger siblings read a book on the sofas in the back of the library while we meet toward the front of the space.)
