Health and Wellness Efforts for Black Students on College Campuses
Link to Mindfulness (LTM) is a student-led initiative composed of Brandeis students of color. The purpose of this initiative is to connect additional Black mental health professionals and resources to the Black community, such that they can access the viable, effective mental health services and holistic resources that are currently lacking on college campuses. There is a notable lack of racial representation at most institutions’ counseling centers, which is responsible for the scarcity of beneficial mental health resources for the Black community, as they combat discrimination, micro-aggressions, and other racist sentiments.

We aim to prioritize the investigation of what modes of mental health support are the most effective and accessible to Black students in an academically rigorous environment, and how to practice them at institutions that lack adequate culturally conscious support.

This form serves to gauge how effectively college campuses address, promote, and adhere to health and wellness practices for their Black student body. This form also seeks to collect ideas surrounding potential implementations you would like to see in order to promote, reinstate, and/or revise mental health practices, support, and resources for the Black community on campus.
