Welcome to the CUMS Orchestral Auditions for the Season 2021-22!

This form is for those who would like to audition for Cambridge University Orchestra (CUO), Cambridge University Sinfonia (CUS), and Cambridge University Wind Orchestra (CUWO). You can also register your interest for the New Music Group.  

Please make sure you read all of the below before submitting the form.

Flutes, Oboes, Cellos, Clarinets, and Saxophones: To apply for our ensembles, all you need to do is submit this form with a link to an unlisted YouTube video of a piece of your choice, and a short paragraph about your orchestral experience. The deadline for video submission is Friday 8 October at 12pm. The video should be between 1 minute and 30 seconds and 3 minutes long, and must have been recorded in the last 6 months. Please do not submit a video that is longer than 3 minutes. Second round auditions will be organised on the evening of Friday 8 October, and will take place on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 October. Please see the website for specific times of auditions.

Viola, Double Bass, Bassoon, Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Trumpet/Cornet, Tuba, Timpani and Percussion: you have one round of auditions and these will all be in person. In order to apply for our ensembles all you need to do is submit this form with a short paragraph about your orchestral experience. Close to the closing date you will be sent a doodle poll link where you can sign up for your audition times. These auditions will take place on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 October. Please see the website for specific times of auditions.

Violins: You will have two rounds of auditions. Both rounds will be taken by a professional auditioner, and will be in person. The first round will be on Saturday 9 October and the second will be on Sunday 10. In order to apply for our ensembles all you need to do is submit this form with a short paragraph about your orchestral experience. Close to the closing date you will be sent a doodle poll link where you can sign up for your audition time.
