Lessons From Down Under: Restructuring at the University of Sydney
Since the summer, when the “U of A for Tomorrow” restructuring plan was first announced, the University of Alberta leadership has touted UK and Australian universities as models to emulate as the university moves forward with implementing more than $200 million in budget cuts and an unprecedented restructuring.

The University of Sydney has been put forward as an aspirational restructuring model to achieve, and both USydney and UAlberta have been working with Nous Group, an international management consultancy group that has achieved “efficiencies.” But what has the impact of the recommendations made by the Nous Group been on post-secondary education down under, and what do the workers of USydney have to say about their experience?

Join NASA and AASUA on Monday, September 21 at 4:30 pm for a free online webinar and Q&A with workers from the University of Sydney. Topics will range from how restructuring has negatively impacted their work, to the reality of Australian post-secondary education in the age of COVID-19.

This online session will take place on the Google Meet platform. Please RSVP by 10:00 am on Monday, September 21 and we'll send you a meeting link prior to the session.
