PA Digital Copyright Webinar Series - July 31 - August 14, 2019 - Registration Form
When does a copyrighted work enter the public domain? What rights do copyright holders have to control use of their work? What rights do cultural institutions have to use copyrighted works without permission, including in digital collections?

Learn more about copyright law in this three-week interactive webinar series hosted by Ana Enriquez from the Penn State Libraries. The first week will address what copyright covers ("What's Protected?"), the second will address fair use and other user's rights ("When You Don't Need Permission"), and the third with cover copyright ownership and licenses ("Permission and Who Can Grant It"). Throughout the series, participants will work in small groups to address hypothetical copyright questions (many involving digital collections) and then debrief their responses as a full group. The webinar series will also cover which rights statements are appropriate for different types of content.

July 31: "What's Protected?"
August 7: "When You Don't Need Permission"
August 14: "Permission and Who Can Grant It"
Each webinar will be held from 10 to 11 a.m.
