SCOSS Outstanding Scholar Scholarship
The SCOSS Scholar award is given to a student who has successfully completed developmental education classes and is continuing his or her education past the developmental level. Please consider making nominations for all awards.  Winners will receive a cash award and certificate/plaque.

Criteria
To qualify for a SCOSS Student Scholar Award, the student must meet the following criteria.
1) The student must have successfully completed a minimum of two developmental courses in at least two of the following areas: reading, math, English, or science.
2) The student must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
3) The student must submit an essay of no more than two typed pages, double-spaced, illustrating how the student has overcome obstacles, outlining the student’s educational and career goals, and explaining how the award will help the student meet his/her goals; and
4) The student must submit recommendation forms, including written comments, from two faculty/staff members who have taught or are teaching the student or who have worked with the student. At least one of the recommending faculty/ staff members must be a current member of SCOSS.
