Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation - TCS New York City Marathon 2023
The Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation team is thrilled to be a part of the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon! The event will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023. The fundraising minimum requirement for our runners is $2,900, or $1,400 if you already have your own entry.

By joining "Vanessa's Team," you'll be honoring Vanessa Marcotte's memory and helping the Foundation realize its mission of violence prevention and safety awareness. The Foundation is achieving its goals through advocacy and education, and through practical self-protection training provided to thousands of people. Additionally, they support youth programs to address the root causes of violence. Vanessa was killed by an act of violence in 2016 while out for a walk.

Team members will receive a VTMF team shirt and swag, and personalized fundraising page, along with fundraising and marketing support and guidance, and correspondence from the Foundation. Training support will be provided via an App. All accepted runners are responsible for their own entry fee into the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon. Additionally, a $100 non-refundable team fee is required upon acceptance. The fee is to be paid to your own fundraising page and it will count towards your minimum and will set the tone for other donations. For application support, please contact kdreyer@vtmf.org.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS: You will receive your official race registration after you are accepted onto our team. All team TCS New York City Marathon registrations will go directly through the Foundation once runner is accepted and fundraising page is up. You will receive a link to register through us. You will be totally responsible for your registration fee into the race:  $255 for NYRR members; $295 for non-members; $358 for non-US residents.                         *

RELEASE FORM AND CONTRIBUTION AGREEMENT: In consideration of accepting this entry, I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release any and all rights for claims and damages I may have against Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation and its employees, volunteers, board members, and consultants including Take Root Advisors for any and all injuries suffered or sustained by me and said event, in the training and planning sessions for said event or travel to and from any of the preceding. I further attest and certify that I am physically fit and have sufficiently trained for competition in this event and a licensed medical doctor has verified my physical condition.  •  I also grant permission for use of my name and/or photograph or voice in broadcast, telecast, print or any other account of this event and agree to waive any compensation for such use.  •   I agree to collect a minimum of $2,900 for Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation as a charity bib/runner or $1,400 as a registered runner on the team by November 4, 2023. If I have not reached the amount in donations by that date, I will be personally responsible for any balance due. Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation reserves the right to charge the balance due to my credit card. I declare that I have exercised my own judgment in signing this agreement. I can continue to fundraise over the minimum up until December 1, 2023 but I must have the minimum by November 3, 2023 before I pick up my bib.  •  I further declare that the decision to sign this agreement is my own. In the event I sustain an injury and am unable to run, I will still be responsible for the $2,900 minimum for a charity bib ($1,400 for a runner with their own bib).  •  In the situation of a runner who defaults on this agreement and their credit card is not valid for any reason, Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation reserves the right to pursue collection of the debt and the runner will be responsible for any and all legal fees incurred by Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation with this collection process.  •  I understand there are no refunds for fundraising and entry fees.  • Runners must follow all CDC guidelines at the time of the race.  Runners must follow all guidelines set forth by the NYRR and TCS New York City Marathon.   •    PLEASE TYPE YOUR NAME IN THE BOX BELOW ACKNOWLEDGING AND AGREEING TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.   *
