About
In 2020, Familias en Acción (Familias) was granted a 3-year contract from Oregon Health Authority to develop Me Cuido, Te Cuido, a culturally specific program, with a focus on HIV/STIs and sexual health education, for the Latinx community to support Oregon's state-wide END HIV Oregon initiative. In the first two years of our program, Familias has trained over 30 community leaders to deliver sexual health education classes through a train the trainer model. In partnership with other organizations in the Portland-Metro area, these leaders have facilitated a combined 20 (virtual) classes, all offered in Spanish, to over 200 community members in the Portland Metro region. In June 2021, Familias hosted our 12th Annual Latino Health Equity conference, Me Cuido, Te Cuido, engaging over 400 people on topics related to HIV/STI research, education and community-based prevention efforts. We are excited to continue our efforts and collaborate with more organizations in other parts of the state!
Our goals are to offer similar trainings and create more relationships and opportunities for collaboration with organizations outside of the Portland Metro area and specifically rural communities in Eastern Oregon. With that said, we would like to invite your organization to participate in a two-day training. This comes at the request and desire to build stronger relationships among Latinx organizations, county health departments and HIV/STI service organizations to ensure that spanish speaking community members have access to sexual health information and are aware of the services available in their region of the state.

Participants who attend this training will also receive important information related to HIV and other STIs including information about testing, prevention and treatment. Participants will also learn about resources in their area to support the communities that they work with.
