Junior Sailing Instructor in Training (JSIT) Application for New AND Returning Applicants
To be completed by youth applicants.
Community Sailing of Colorado offers a Junior Instructor in Training Program (JSIT) to CSC youth sailors who are 12 years of age or older. The JSIT Program’s primary purpose is to give enthusiastic CSC sailors the opportunity to be a greater part of the CSC community by volunteering and gaining insight into the role of the instructor. JSITs are a vital part of our organization and our JSITs learn valuable skills such as youth leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, planning, and organizing. This volunteer position builds many youth skills for future employment with CSC and other sailing organizations.
*IMPORTANT: Please complete this application and note your potential availability as best you can. If you're applying early and don't yet know your summer schedule please just note that. We will reach out to finalize availability and the JSIT volunteer schedule in the spring. If this is your first year you will need to take the JSIT Training Camp during the dates listed below (Cost: $549). This training camp only needs to be taken once and makes you eligible to JSIT for future seasons.
Upon submission of this application you will be emailed a copy of your response so you can have your chosen weeks of availability on record for reference. Applications are reviewed as they come in and we will follow up with the results. If accepted to the program we will then confirm and update availability prior to building out the official JSIT schedule in the spring.
