Nogojiwanong | Peterborough International Women's Day 2024

We extend a warm invitation for you to join us on Friday, March 8, 2024 for KWIC & KSAC's free, accessible, and open to all annual International Women's Day celebrations in Nogojiwanong | Peterborough. This year, we will be hosting a rally/march as well as a hybrid community evening event at the Peterborough Public Library.

Rally and March

Join us Friday, March 8th from noon-1PM for a Rally and March starting downtown at Peterborough Square Courtyard and traveling North along the sidewalks of George Street to Confederation Park, across from City Hall. Once we reach City Hall,  the International Women's Day Declaration will be read.

Registration is encouraged!

Free, Hybrid, Community Event

Join us in celebrating the significance of community and the power of shared narratives. Immerse yourself in inspiring stories and partake in a communal activity designed to forge connections and cultivate meaningful relationships. Your presence is not just an invitation; it's a commitment to celebrating the strength and resilience of women's and gender equality through the art of storytelling.

In the Peterborough Public Library - Friends of the Library Community Room, the doors will open at 4:30 PM, and the event will run from 5:00 until 7:30 PM EST. This event will also be livestreamed. Registration is required for access to the livestream. Registration is encouraged for in person attendance.

The Evening Community Event will take place at the Peterborough Public Library. The Library is an accessible building, some if their accessibility features include: 
-Street level access from the main entrance
-Ramp access from the side entrance and to the outside return drop box
-2 elevators; one at the main entrance and the second inside the library toward the back of the building
-Furniture and shelving spaced with wheelchair and walker clearance
-Angled bottom shelves
-Power door operators
-Accessible washrooms with safety alarms
