Theory, Practice, and Use of Feedback
Feedback is at the center of second language acquisition and can provide learners great opportunities as they produce the language when presented timely and in correct manner. This workshop will first present different approaches to providing feedback to second language learners. Second, I will show how to align different types of feedback to various purposes, in order to promote a proficiency-oriented communicative curriculum. We will finish with a hands-on group-work activity, in which we will discuss how to provide feedback for some simulated second language learning tasks.
