A 26-week gestation preterm infant, now at 28 weeks corrected gestational age, remains intubated on a high-frequency jet ventilator (HFJV) with a mean airway pressure (MAP) of 11 and an FiO₂ of 43%. The infant weighs 970g and is showing early signs of evolving chronic lung disease (CLD), with persistent wet lungs despite hyperinflation. Ventilator settings include a jet rate of 300 breaths per minute with pressures of 33/7 cmH₂O. The infant is hemodynamically stable, with a blood pressure of 53/19 mmHg. An echocardiographic evaluation has been requested to assess pulmonary hemodynamics and right ventricular function in the setting of evolving CLD.
