Please read and complete this application if you would like your child to be considered for the Lytle Primary Pre- K program for the 2023-2024 school year. Only complete this application if you have already gone through the Head Start process and did not qualify.

All admission is based on meeting ANY of the following criteria:

Child is educationally disadvantaged (eligible to participate in the National School Lunch Program)
Child is unable to speak and comprehend English
Child is or has ever been in the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (Foster care)
Child is homeless (as defined by the McKinney-Vento Act)
Child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who are ordered to active duty by proper authority
Child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who were injured or killed while serving on active duty
Child of a recipient of Star of Texas Award

Please check any of the following qualifiers that apply to your family. You will need to provide required documentation for each item that you check. Your application will not be complete until you provide the appropriate documents to Lytle Primary. *

Income Eligibility: I must provide the last three pay stubs for ALL people who are currently employed in my household or receive other income such as child support, SSI, retirement or disability. If my family receieves SNAP or Medicaid I will need to provide a letter of eligibility along with the EDG number.

Limited English Proficient: I must complete the Home Language Survey and my child will be tested by the district with an Oral English Assessment.

Homeless: I must complete the Residency Questionnaire and eligibility will be determined by the district.

Foster Care Eligibility: I must provide DFPS foster/kinship placement documentation.

Military Eligibility: If I am an active duty memeber of the military I must provide my Department of Defense photo identification or active duty orders.

Military Eligibilty: If I am a disabled veteran I must provide my VA eligibility benefits letter stating that my injury occurred while serving on active duty.

Star of Texas Award Recipient: Awarded to peace officers, firefighters, and emergency responders who were seriously injured or killed in the line of duty.
