The seventh annual Rhode Island High School Ethics Bowl Tournament will be held online on Sunday, February 5, 2023. Each year, we invite members of the community to act as judges during the event.

As a judge or moderator, you will have the chance to listen to high school students from across the state discuss scenarios and explore the ethical questions they present. A judge’s role in the ethics bowl is to gauge a team’s breadth and depth of thought as applied to a specific ethics case. The role of moderator is to “run the room” for the matches to which you are assigned. Training will be provided to help explain how to evaluate a team’s performance in combination with the score sheet and scoring criteria or how to run the match.
