Thank you for your interest in welcoming and helping Afghan refugees resettle in the DMV area. OneHeartDC (https://oneheartdc.org) is in regular contact with several refugee resettlement organizations and charities. Currently the most urgent needs that churches and non-profit organizations may assist our newly arriving Afghan friends are:
• Financial assistance
• Material goods
• Housing

As other needs arise, we will post them on our website.

Your response will help us build a centralized and organized database to be used in coordination with local refugee resettlement agencies and refugee-helping organizations so that we may avoid duplication of efforts and gaps. This form will help organize community support for easy use by the nonprofits. We understand that your response is an indication of interest rather than a firm commitment to help, and the individual nonprofits will reach out to confirm your offer and provide further information on how you can help meet the needs of their refugee clients.

To make financial contributions, we encourage you to give directly to a refugee-serving organization.
