2022 GCFSC Ice Show Registration                           DUE 3/12/21
The Garden City Figure Skating Club cordially invites you to take part in our annual ice show. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your skater’s emerging talent and achievements. Please take a moment to review the information below and complete the online registration form no later than March 12, 2022. A $50 deposit is due at the time of registration to the Club Treasurer Sam Baker. Ice show registrations will not be authorized until payment is confirmed.

Eligibility/Requirements:
1. For Skaters who are USFS members or enrolled in Learn to Skate.
2. Skaters of all levels are eligible for one group number; skaters Basic 5 and higher are allowed two group numbers; skaters with a double jump are eligible for the High Freestyle group number.
3. Specialty numbers:
a. Opener- Skaters are eligible to skate in opener if they are a GCFSC member.
b. Lights/glow numbers- Low Lights will be offered to skaters Freeskate 4 and above. High Lights will be offered to skaters that have passed Juvenile moves or above. Modifications may be made based on registration.
c. NEW!! COMPETITOR’S NUMBER- Eligible to those skaters that have entered two or more USFS sanctioned competitions between November 15, 2019, and March 31st, 2022.
i. Skaters will wear their competition dress for the competitor's number.
d. Pair/Trio- Skaters in Freeskate 3-6 will be offered a pair number
e. Group Spotlight Solo- Skaters who have passed Pre-preliminary freeskate, Preliminary moves, Pre-bronze dances, Adult Pre-bronze freeskate, or Adult Bronze moves are eligible for a group spotlight solo.
f. Solo- Skaters who have passed Juvenile freeskate, Intermediate moves, Silver dances, Adult Gold freeskate, or Adult Novice moves are eligible for a solo.
i. It is required that soloists must skate in at least one standard group number.
4. Level/Test deadline is March 12th, 2022, for all specialty and group numbers.
5. Skaters must attend all scheduled practices for their group number(s).
6. A member of each skater’s family must volunteer for an ice show staff position. A sign-up will be posted online in spring. We use sign-up genius to schedule our volunteers. Safesport certification is required for many of the volunteer positions. More information about Safesport requirements will be provided in a separate email.


Fees:
One group number (all levels allowed): $140 for Garden City LTS or club members, $165 for outside members.
Two group numbers (Basic 5 and higher): $220 for Garden City LTS or club members, $265 for outside members.
Specialty numbers
o Opener (GCFSC members only): $75; Lights numbers: $75; Competitor’s number: $45 (costume not included).
o Solo: Members from other clubs and Learn to Skate programs will be charged a $50 solo fee.
o Pair/trio numbers, spotlight soloists, and soloists are responsible for scheduling lessons with a private coach on available freestyle ice. It is the parent’s responsibility for ice fees, coaching fees, and a costume.


The group fee you pay covers:
The cost of the costume, which is special ordered from a costume company. Measurements for costumes will scheduled (TBA). One pair of tights are included with your costume.
o Additional tights may be ordered (on registration form).
o Please keep in mind that the costumes are NOT custom made and are designed to fit a range of skaters. There is variance between companies and sizes are ordered based on the company size chart. You are responsible for alterations and adjustments to your skater’s costumes to achieve the perfect fit.
Ice show practice ice and coaching fees.


Deadlines and Payments:
Online registration forms must be submitted by March 12th, 2022, with the $50 deposit (no refunds).
Payment must be received in full no later than March 31st, 2022 (no refunds). This is a strict deadline!
o Your skater will not be allowed to participate on ice if your balance is not paid prior to the first practice. Your skater will still be expected to attend/observe all practices.
You can make payments of any amount, at any time, prior to the final deadline.
Fundraiser profit will be applied to your account before the final payment is due.

Important Dates/Rehearsals: TENTATIVE dates and times
Ice Show practices start Friday, April 1st and Saturday, April 2nd, 2022. SUBJECT TO CHANGE
Note: Detailed Friday and Saturday practice schedules will be announced in the second informational packet.
Monday, May 16th 4:00-8:00pm Section Run-Through (Groups will be scheduled specific times)
Tuesday, May 17th 4:00-8:00pm Technical Rehearsal (no costumes)
Wednesday, May 18th 5:00-8:30 pm Dress Rehearsal
Important Notes:  Rehearsals Tuesday, May 17th and Wednesday, May 18th will be CLOSED for viewing to all parents. Skaters are obligated to attend all rehearsals!
A confirmed detailed schedule will be included in your 2nd ice show informational packet.


Fundraisers:
 To help defray the cost of ice show fees, the Garden City Figure Skating Club will be holding multiple fundraisers.  
1. Program ads (optional) - We will be selling skater ads, personal ads, and business ads for the ice show program. 10% of personal ad sales and 25% of business ad sales go to your skater’s ice show account. Due April 9th, 2022. More information to come.
2. Other fundraisers: TBA
3. A mandatory spring fundraiser- $30 minimum. ALL profits from this will be added to the Garden City FSC general fund. This allows us to pay for major expenses such as lights, curtains, props, etc.

As a USFS sanctioned event all spectators will be required to wear a mask for the duration of the show. Skaters will be permitted to take of their masks when practicing and performing.

My child, has my permission to participate in the Garden City FSC 2022 Ice Show.  I have read and understand what is expected of the parent/skater.  I accept my responsibility to pay for my child’s costume, and to volunteer my time when applicable.  I realize there may be some sewing involved with my child’s costume and that it is my responsibility to have it done (attaching sequins or straps).
