For the following questions...
Explain why the aspect(s) you have identified is/are inaccessible or leads to inequality in competition. How could it change or be replaced? Is it something that could be done away with with no consequence? Does it have a disproportionately negative impact on people with other marginalized identities besides disability? Feel free to leave answers blank and write as little or as much as you would like. Be innovative with your answers. It is okay to question even the most fundamental aspects of the activity here.
Identify a norm of competition that you think is inaccessible. Think about the way speech and debate events themselves function and how that could be improved upon. Are there practices that we seem to accept that are inequitable? Think about things like speech times, prep time, spreading, etc.
Identify how tournament officials or tabroom on tournament day could create a more accessible or equitable environment. How could these entities better support disabled or otherwise marginalized participants? Think about things like reporting incidents, scheduling, administration, etc.
Identify how tournaments could be more accessible or equitable. How does the costs, location, etc impact disabled or otherwise marginalized participants? Think about things like registration, fees, location of rooms, food, and travel.
Share anything else related to accessibility in speech and debate here.
