CaHPSA E-Newsletter Recruitment
Thank you for your interest in the CaHPSA E-newsletter and choosing to be more involved in our project.

Our thoughtfully crafted newsletters help to bridge the gap between recent healthcare policy and public awareness. We take recent information regarding policy changes, upcoming legislative decisions, lobbying groups, and a variety of other public health topics. We then format and summarize the information in a way that is easy to read and share. Our newsletters reach a variety of advocates across California including students, physicians, and those simply invested in advocating for change in their communities.

Our Newsletter Team - Department Descriptions
Our newsletter team consists of 3 main departments; writers, illustrators, and editors. One individual is allowed to be a part of any combination of these departments depending on that individual's time commitment and drive.

Writers: The writers department consists of the content creators and those who do the research for the newsletter. This role is very open ended in its possibilities, as they can choose almost any topic of interest to them in the healthcare industry to research and write about. The format that this content is presented can be coordinated with other members of the newsletter team, so that it is presented to our audience in the most concise and entertaining way possible.

Illustrators: The illustrators department consists of our graphic designers and artists. This role involves taking the information given to them by the writers and creating a graphic that looks appealing and also relays all the necessary information to our audience. The most often used software for our illustrators to create their graphics is Canva, a free graphic design software. However, if you have experience in other graphic design softwares feel free to use those. As plagiarism is not tolerated at all by the CaHPSA E-newsletter team, those who create the graphics should be especially careful to use non-copyrighted graphics.

Editors: Editors are responsible for double checking the work of the other two roles to ensure that our finalized newsletter is spelling and grammatical error free, and also that all the links are correct and working. This role will also be tasked with implementing all the content created by the other roles into Mailchimp and formatting our newsletter. This role is expected to also send a test email to themselves via Mailchimp to ensure that the version of the newsletter going out to our readers is working properly.
