Well, it's that time of the year again and our speaker nomination and applications are officially open.
What are we looking for in a TEDxPretoria Talk or Performance?
1. We are looking for NEW ideas that are truly innovative, inspirational, and practical. Finding the crux and centre of your idea is essential to making the talk a success.
2. We are looking for young upcoming artists/musicians/entertainers that are seeking a platform to springboard their careers.
About TEDx
TEDx events are run independently under license from TED and generally involve three main categories T=Technology E=Entertainment and D=Design. You can see thousands of examples of talks on

About TEDxPretoria
TEDxPretoria is a non-profit event, licensed under TED and showcases ideas worth spreading. All proceeds raised go towards the event experience. Our theme this year is Don't Blink.
TEDxPretoria is scheduled to take place on 19 November 2019 in Pretoria. We are required to record all original stage content (live talks, performances, etc.) on video. After the event, this video is accessible to TED and the public. All speakers, performers, and other stage presenters must sign a permission release form, giving TED and others the right to edit and distribute video of their presentation. On Ted.com, the best talks and performances from TEDx are available to the world, for free. TED Talks have proven extraordinarily effective at spreading ideas.
Tickets will be available for purchase from August 2019.
What commitment is expected from speakers?
We are flexible and accommodating, but we do expect a high level of commitment from speakers. We expect you to take part in the process to prepare you for the intellectual performance of your career. If you cannot commit to these requirements we reserve the right to exclude you from the final speaker line up.
Speakers are selected by an independent panel and shortlisted speakers will be notified via e-mail/telephonically by 30 August 2019. They will be invited to a live audition to share their idea.
Speakers and performers are expected to attend one compulsory workshop in October/November 2019, one rehearsal and the full day event on 19 November 2019.

-No political agendas
-No religious proselytising (including new age beliefs)
-Only good science
