Virtual Chaperoning (VC) System
The VC system allows us to communicate directly and efficiently with students who are competing. In a physical tournament, K-12 students legally need to be supervised by an adult that has a connection to their school or program. In a virtual tournament, we also need to have a legal adult present so as to facilitate communication with the students.

The tournament can’t run if we can’t instantly communicate you. However, as a competitor, you are usually unlikely to be available to be within a phone call's reach whenever we need to communicate with you. Thus, you need to be located in the same building as
Dress Policy
Please dress and present yourself in the same way that you would present yourself at a physical tournament. If you would wear a suit and tie to a physical tournament, please dress the same way for this tournament.

These rounds should not feel like you are video calling your friends. They are actual rounds with judges that are paid by your parents and the program you compete for.
Internet Policy
Obviously, you will have to use the internet in order to compete. However, you definitely shouldn't use the internet in order to get help from other people that would give you a competitive advantage during your round. You should not be using your devices to communicate with other people about the content of the arguments you read in your Debate rounds, nor should you be reading off of them for your Speech rounds.

These tournaments exist for the purpose of providing you with cheap and convenient practice for physical tournaments. Please don't ruin them by attempting to get an unfair advantage over an opponents.
