The Indigenous Society of Architecture, Planning and Design (ISAPD) is an organization focused on increasing international knowledge, consciousness, and appreciation of Indigenous architecture, planning, and design, inclusive of landscape architecture and environmental design, in academia and the professional realm. ISAPD works toward fundamentally supporting and increasing the representation of American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, First Nations, Aboriginal Australians, Māori, and other Indigenous Scholars and Peoples in these fields.
The name of this organization is the “Indigenous Society of Architecture, Planning and Design”. The acronym is “ISAPD.”
Individual members of the Indigenous Society of Architecture, Planning and Design are considered “Indigenous Scholars of Architecture, Planning and Design.”
ISAPD seeks to support members individually and to foster chapter forming in all capacities. Each academic institution has its own requirements to be considered an affiliate student organization. The number of members to qualify as a student group, for example, varies across institutions. If the number of members to qualify as a student organization of your academic institution is less than three, then less than three chairs are acceptable to be considered an ISAPD student chapter.
Please note that ISAPD student members do not need to be associated with a chapter to be considered a member of ISAPD. If your academic institution does not have the number of ISAPD student members necessary to form a student organization, you may still be involved with the ISAPD organization, other ISAPD chapters and engage with your ISAPD regions.
The ISAPD Chapter Application will be a proposal for ISAPD chapters to be associated with ISAPD.
All members of the student chapter must submit a student membership application individually.
