WHS Summer School Registration 2022-2023
If you did not receive credit for a core class due to a failing grade, you may register and attend summer school to regain credit.  Please talk to your counselor if you are unsure if you need to register or not.

Early registration closes on May 21.  There will be a final registration date on June 1.

Student Expectations
Grading: Partial work will not be accepted for credit.  Students must complete 100% of the work assigned at a 70% passing rate to receive credit.  Students will receive a 70 for the grade regardless of the grade in Edgenuity. The grade will be reflected as a Summer School grade on the transcript.

Absence Policy: Any student with more than two absences will not receive credit.  This is in accordance with the 90% attendance requirement.  A student planning to attend summer school should not plan vacation time during the sessions.  If a student acquires 2 absences , he/she will be subject to loss of credit for that course with NO refund of tuition and may not be permitted to continue attending class.

Tardy Policy: Because of the short length of class sessions and academic intensity of summer school, prompt and consistent attendance is required.  Students who are persistently tardy to class may be dropped from attendance of summer school.  Five tardies of fewer than 10 minutes each shall count as one absence, and being late 10 minutes or more shall count as one absence.  

Dress Code and Discipline.  Summer School dress code is that of the dress code during the school year.  Students who disrupt the learning of others or students who refuse to complete work will be referred to the administration office.  After the second referral, the student may be dismissed without refund from Summer School.

Refund Policy:  Students who are dropped for disciplinary reasons from enrollment in summer school or who have been dropped because of excessive tardies or absences will not be refunded any tuition or fee.  Refunds cannot be made after the third day of classes.  All requests must be approved by the administration.

Cell Phones:  Students will be expected to turn in their phones to the teacher as soon as they enter the room.  Students may check their phones during the assigned break, (not during restroom breaks requested by the student) and cell phones will be returned as students are leaving the room.
