We created a more student-dedicated spaces in the SJSU College of Information, Data and Society that are completely student-run and focus on sharing student voices.
As part of our development, we have expanded our prior project, Your Voices (https://ischoolblogs.sjsu.edu/yourvoices/your-voices-learning-listening-and-sharing/), with the following goals for SAYV:
1. Have space for students to have interaction with each other by:
- Creating threads
- Implementing student-centered spaces where students can exchange ideas or experiences with each other freely
2. Share stories:- Through podcasts that people can listen to in their own time
- Making stories feel more real and personable
- That elevate the stories of historically underrepresented students
3. Giving back resources and information to the community by:
- Sharing job postings with each other
- Informing each other about news or stories
- Encouraging students to get involved in more networking and resume-building experiences
