Please note the funding period for One World Week has ended - you are still free to bid for the period but it may take a while to get back to you and the lateness of the application will be taken into consideration as part of the  process.

All applications will be assessed by a panel of University and Students' Union staff.

Although the majority of requests we get are for financial support, you do not have to apply for funding, we can help you with promotion (social media, our whats on listings, posters etc), equipment (including sound, lighting and visual), staffing, venue booking and more! So please do let us know what your plans are even if you are not applying for funding.

If you are applying for funding more than £500, you will be asked to meet with members of the One World Sussex Panel to pitch your idea further.

Please make sure your application is submitted well in advance - for One World Week 2020 submissions must be received by Friday 13th December at the latest. You'll be contacted after applying by a member of the panel to discuss details of your event, so please check your e-mails to respond to queries.

Sometimes applications are partially granted, e.g. if the panel chooses to grant a reduced amount or for only some of the items requested, and/or sometimes the panel grants funding with additional conditions, e.g. that the organiser submits a report after the event or find a cheaper quote. Please note, no application will be considered for retrospective funding, i.e. you cannot apply for funding for things you have already bought.

The applicant will be notified by email of their application’s outcome - for One World Week 2020 you will know the final outcome and your allocated funding bid by Wednesday 5th February.

Spending your funding
Unless otherwise agreed directly with the society, funds approved MUST be spent 2 weeks after the event and all funds MUST be spent by the end of Spring Term. Any surplus at this point will be returned to the One World Sussex Fund. You must spend the funding on the items specified in your application and if you wish to spend it on other items you must reapply.
