GoFigueira DofE Surfing Camp 2021

Join us in Figueira da Foz on Portugal’s  beautiful west coast to learn surfing and where you can also complete your Duke of Edinburgh`s Gold Residential Award on the renowned surf and beaches of nearby Cabadelo.

Who is this Surfing camp for?:
o Open to  DoE  candidates of any ability level and age – no experience of surfing necessary
o Friends of DoE candidates are welcome also to join

Our fully qualified surf coaches will lead you through from the basics to advanced and you’ll also learn sea and tide awareness and how to use apps and other tools for understanding weather and sea conditions and surf planning. We’ll also teach you basic life saving techniques - all while you enjoy the sun and fun of the beach !

We provide 2 surf lessons daily (each 90 minutes) , a wetsuit and board and your sessions will be monitored by lifeguards and our own staff as well as the surf coaches.  If you want to continue surfing after the lesson you can hire the board and suit for longer at special discount prices. On land we provide shared room accommodation in our townhouse, all meals , local transport to surf site and we can accompany you to and from the airport if you wish.   Our in-house staff are always on hand to help and guide and all are DBS approved UK-based .

We assess you at the start of camp and we monitor your progress daily and at the end of your camp we provide a completion report and provide tips for how to continue to improve in surfing which you can submit to the DofE for completion of your Gold Residential award.

You can choose either an 8 day camp with 5 days surfing or a 5 day camp with 3 days surfing and you are free to choose which days suits you best.  Please indicate below which week(s) you could make so that we can balance out the numbers to best effect.


Airport Transfers
o We provide a free chaperone to accompany you by bus between Lisbon airport and Figueira on Sundays
o On any other day we can provide a chaperone for a small charge (dependent on numbers)
