Parent Input for MCHS Graduation 2022

The MC Administration has asked the Mountain Crest Parent Organization (MCPO) to reach out to parents for input about graduation proceedings in the future. The last two years graduation ceremonies were adjusted for COVID, but as we move to returning back to some traditional ceremony, the administration would like to know what parents would like those ceremonies to look like.

Some Pros and Cons of the different Graduation logistics

At the Spectrum -
Pros: formality, big enough, tradition, one ceremony all together, no weather concerns
Cons: parking, location, difficult for elderly/kids, long ceremony, pictures are difficult during ceremony, more impersonal

At Mountain Crest in the auditorium - (spread over two days like 2021)
Pros: at MC, more personal, can sign up for time that works for families, shorter ceremony, no weather concerns, pictures can be taken
Cons: not as formal, can't fit everyone, can't have entire ceremony together

At Mountain Crest on the football field -
Pros: at MC, more personal, can fit everyone, can have entire ceremony together, pictures can be taken
Cons: weather, heat, possibly not great visibility for every seat, possibly limited seating, possibly assigned seating, challenges with audio quality, long ceremony

At Mountain Crest

At MC in the auditorium (limited seating or scheduled graduation times throughout the day)

More personal approach to graduation with senior highlight video, pictures, decorations at MC

More time spent on each graduates time on stage, recognition

Parents being able to be at the Senior tassel ceremony and speakers

If in the auditorium, more organization with seniors graduating/walking across stage, more respectful environment

Senior Tassel assembly and graduation speakers separate from graduation ceremony (meaning shorter actual graduation ceremony)

Entire ceremony all together (with speakers, seniors entering formally, walking across stage in from of audience, etc.)
