The Access Amazon Project
ICPNA Cusco and the Regional English Language Office at the U.S. Embassy in Lima are seeking experienced English language teachers for a new program called “Access Amazon”; a one-year English language and professional development program funded through the U.S. Department of State. This program aims to provide young Indigenous leaders in the Amazon region with the opportunity to improve their English language proficiency and develop knowledge and skills that will help them to advocate locally and globally for themes that deeply affect their lives such as sustainability, environmental protection, climate change. In addition, participants will receive instruction in leadership and community building, amongst others.
We are looking for committed teachers in the Puerto Maldonado area who are willing to accept this challenge. The ideal candidates will be highly proficient (CEFR level C1 or better) in English and have several years experience teaching English to adults. As this course will be a virtual course, teachers should have experience in online teaching and be proficient in several platforms and online tools. Experience and proficiency in STEAM and/or related fields is preferred. Flexibility and availability for one year is required. Expected number of hours per week dedicated to program: 10 hours
