2024-25 E-Board Interest Form
Honors Council is looking for executive board members to advance our mission, which is to support Honors students by connecting them with peers, organizations, and administration. We achieve this by collaborating with Honors Student Organizations to host events (such as International Night), providing training opportunities for organizations, and promoting advocacy efforts (such as the Honors Town Hall). Please read the following position descriptions and express your interest.

Open Position: HSO Chair
The Honors Student Organization (HSO) Chair is responsible for:
  • Designing and facilitating a Fall HSO Training
  • Creating accountability initiatives with the seven Storrs-based HSOs throughout the year
  • Communicating with all HSOs to ensure all organizations are appropriately supported
  • Coordinating and designing the "State of the Honors Council" annual message
Open Position: Advocacy Chair
The Advocacy Chair is responsible for:
  • Meeting regularly with Honors Program administration, including Directors, Assistant Directors, and Associate Directors
  • Designing, establishing, and chairing an Honors Student Advocacy Board 
  • Coordinating the Honors Board of Associate Directors student representative program
  • Organizing an Honors Town Hall
Open Position: External Relations Chair
The External Relations Chair is responsible for:
  • Regularly communicating with leadership at regional campuses, including HSLB–Stamford and HSLB–Hartford
  • Collaborating with Honors Program Administration to design events/opportunities for students at all campuses to connect with each other
  • Conducting outreach to Honors Programs external to UConn
  • Generating new ideas for outreach initiatives
Open Position: Event Coordinator
The Event Coordinator is responsible for:
  • Brainstorming and executing, with the Executive Leadership Team, new social events
  • Establishing and serving on Event Coordination Committees, such as the I-Nite Committee
  • Attending events as scheduled
Open Position: Social Media Chair
The Social Media Chair is responsible for:
  • Creating flyers for all Honors Council events
  • Communicating with other HSOs to ensure cross-organization event promotions
  • Taking photos and videos at Honors Council (and affiliate) events
  • Regularly posting on Honors Council social media channels
