Special PTL Survey
Dear Parents,

The purpose of this survey is to get feedback from you as a member, how the PTL can fulfill its role both now and in the future with respect to its organizational structure and leadership. The PTL is an important body through which our parents have a voice in our school and have the opportunity to participate and make an impact on the rich experience that we want our students and parents to have at Hope.  This survey is anonymous unless you wish to leave your name for further follow-up.

Currently the PTL is supposed to have an executive committee consisting of President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, 2 Elementary Members-at-Large and 2 Middle School Members-at-Large. The PTL holds bi-monthly meetings which include:  PTL updates, Principal's updates, Treasurer's report, general business, time for feedback and Q&A.  The PTL also hosts informal coffee fellowships every month for parents and administrators to connect. For several years now the PTL has been challenged with finding parent volunteers willing to take on lead roles in a number of areas such as: organizing/running Kilometer Club and Executive Committee positions.

What would you suggest could be changed to improve how the PTL does it work?
What are the issues you see with the current PTL that you think should be worked on immediately?
What could be done to encourage parents to step up to take on lead roles?
Would you support a system of assigning certain tasks or the planning of events to all the parents of a certain class?  For example, Class 2A parents are responsible for organizing the Father-Daughter Dance the next year? (Many events are well-documented) *
What is the biggest obstacle, if any, for you to get involved in the PTL (i.e. lack of time, shortage of ideas, language, etc.)? *
If there is no one willing to take on the volunteer role of PTL President, would you support using PTL revenue to fund an individual (parent or staff) to co-ordinate the PTL Executive Committee? *
If you support using PTL revenue to fund a staff member, do you also support raising the PTL annual fees or the PVH fees to fund this position while maintaining all the current activities the PTL funds? *
