Introduction
This study explores the relationship between parenting techniques and three key psychological constructs: parenting sense of competence, differentiation of self, and defense mechanism use. The target population includes parents of early and middle adolescents (ages 10–18). By examining how parenting techniques are influenced by these variables, we aim to develop culturally sensitive and effective parenting interventions.

Have a child/children between the ages of 10-18 years.
Are the primary care giver of the child/children.

Q. What are the benefits of participating?
While specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed, this study aims to contribute valuable insights into parenting techniques. Participants will also have access to a parenting workshop as part of the study.

Q. How will my information be handled?
By providing your consent, you allow the research team to collect and use your information for the study. All data will be anonymized and stored as alphanumeric codes to ensure confidentiality. This information will be securely stored for a minimum of 10 years after the publication of the research results.

Q. Can I withdraw from the study?
Yes, you can withdraw from the study at any time by contacting the research team or completing the withdrawal of consent form provided. Your decision to withdraw will not affect your relationship with Savitribai Phule Pune University. If you withdraw, no further information will be collected, and you may request the removal of any personally identifiable data. However, data already included in published results cannot be retracted.
