EOI - Student Consultation Services

What we offer: 

Student observation and assessment: An observation is an opportunity for a therapist to assess a child’s participation in the classroom or yard environment, and identify underlying challenges of the student which are contributing to challenging behaviours. 

Support for funding applications: A report/summary provided to present as evidence for levels of support/adjustment which would be required for a student to engage and participate in the school environment. 

Support recommendations for school environments: Individualised recommendations and strategies following the observation to support teaching staff and the family to assist the student’s engagement in school based tasks. Strategies provided within the areas of  Learning and applying knowledge, general tasks and demands (Daily routines and self regulation), sensory, communication, self care, interpersonal interactions, mobility and gross motor, and fine motor. 

Writing IEP/DIP goals: Support writing functional goals for the student and assistance identifying the challenge area of the child to formulate specific goals. 

Special consideration applications: Assistance applying for and considering appropriate special consideration recommendations for assessments such as NAPLAN, SACs, Exams ect. 

Attendance at SSG meetings: Support at SSG meetings to assist with collaboration and implementation of strategies and supports. 

Kid Link Occupational Therapy are also able to offer additional consultation services following the provision of webinars or student consultations. These services can be discussed in further detail by contacting the Family Liaison Team.
