ACT Root Riders

The program will run for eight week-long sessions for eight to ten high school-aged youth from 06/28/21- 08/06/21. All Root Riders will receive an hourly wage of $12.00.

Two adult leaders will work with the student group per session, teaching gardening skills, preparation of produce for sale at market, hands-on first business and marketing skills.

Planting, tending, and harvesting of fruits, vegetables, and herbs will take place in ACT's five North End gardens with the Root Riders travelling from site to site by bicycle. A bicycle safety class will be offered at the start of the program.
