Omaha Roller Derby is hosting the Nebraska Derby Referee and NSO Clinic on Saturday, November 11, 2023

Do you like roller derby, but haven’t been sure how to get involved? Or are you already involved in roller derby at a beginner level and want to take your knowledge of the game to the next level? Join us for this officiating clinic to learn the foundations of roller derby gameplay and rules. Not sure what an official is or does? This is a perfect event to learn. 

The clinic curriculum will feature two tracks: one for skating referees and one for non-skating officials.  The clinic will begin at 10 AM with a break for lunch (provided!). We will host one adult and one junior scrimmage that all officials can practically apply what they’ve learned in the morning’s “classroom” session.

What to Bring:

-Notebook or notepad

-Pen or pencil

-Gear, Fox40 whistle for skating officials

*For the scrimmages, we will extend the breaks in between jams so that learning officials can ask questions and receive explanations for calls made (or not made) during game play.

The abundance of leagues in our area means there are more and more bouts happening on the same days at the same times. We aim to alleviate officials’ workloads and burnout by bringing more officials to derby! We hope to see you there!
