Please use this form to indicate which of the  sessions you would like to attend (you may register for any one, two, or all three sessions).

If you would like to attend a session, click on the "Yes! Sign me up" option for that session. If you would not like to attend a session, simply skip over the session and do not click anything.

At the very end of the form please select "Submit" which will send all of your choices to OAF and complete the registration process. Session 1

Fri. Sept. 9, 11:30a-12:45p.

Description:
The first session will elicit an appreciation for both seasoned opera lovers and new-comers alike; and intends to excite the appetites of all those who especially love this art form by sharing insights into the minds and souls of the composers whose works still affect us today.  Although the characters and stories may be of people and places unusual to you, their human experiences are many times similar to those we know and can relate to; therefore, Opera is a reflection of life!

Session 2

Fri. Oct. 7, 11:30a-12:45p.

Description:
The second session is “A Trip to Operatic Italy.”  During the summer of 2009, Lou made a long-awaited trip to Italy. While there he went to the places important in the lives of Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini, as well as the major outdoor theaters in Italy.  This presentation is a pictorial souvenir of that trip accompanied by the operatic music of these two great composers.  It is not just a typical “travelog” but a marriage of pictures and appropriate music for each beautiful location.   Sharing this experience should bring back wonderful memories for those who have already been to these places and a yearning to visit them for all those who desire to travel there…..Buon viaggio!

Session 3

Fri. Nov. 11, 11:30a-12:45p.

Description:
The third and final session is “Singing Without Words.” The sound of a singing human voice can bring much pleasure; and when one is expressing words that have special or dramatic meaning, one’s experience can be greatly enhanced. There are times, however, when a specific text ends and the singer continues on with “la, la, las” or other non-verbal sounds.  This presentation will explore those operatic moments when words stop and non-words continue vocalizing that’s pleasurable!
