To celebrate 150 years of women at Northwestern, GWAN is hosting our first Women in Research Symposium to showcase the contributions women have made to Northwestern and the larger research community. The evening will consist of 150 second (2.5 minute) lightning talks followed by a poster session and networking reception.
We invite women, non-binary, and other gender-diverse graduate students from all disciplinary backgrounds to submit an abstract for a lightning talk or other presentation. In celebrating the inclusion of women at Northwestern, and in keeping with the theme of this year's One Book One Northwestern choice, Hidden Figures, we recognize that many women hold intersectional identities. We, therefore, strongly encourage students from underrepresented backgrounds to apply to present.
We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. For inquiries about accessibility or accommodations, or any other questions, please contact GWAN at
