Thank you for your willingness to offer feedback to the development of The Grasshopper Academy core curriculum program, welcome to the Feedback Crew!

Our team is in the process of creating the "core" curriculum of 12 units that will serve as a foundation for a continued release of new units and content in the future. Your contribution of feedback will help our team create the highest quality program possible, and we are grateful for your time!

If you are willing, please read the descriptive language below. There will be space to provide comments and/or questions on the "About Grasshopper Academy" section later in this form.  If you are short on time, feel free to skip ahead to the questions below (you can always return later!).


About Grasshopper Academy:
Re-imagining the Learning Journey

What is Grasshopper Academy?
A comprehensive and dynamic curriculum inspired and informed by the natural world and its systems, for use in a variety of applications and optimized for ages 8-12. Topics will include earth and life sciences, environmental leadership, critical thinking, and more.

Mission:
Providing the tools for sustainable, individualized learning through a dynamic + holistic program inspired by nature and its vibrant, interacting systems.

Vision:
To fuel youth leadership and innovation in a dynamic and evolving world. 

Guiding Principles:
  • To emphasize systems thinking – exploring the interconnections within and between systems. 

  • To provide essential tools that help with the understanding and preparation for the complex challenges of today and tomorrow.

  • To encourage consideration for our unique selves and each other

  • To increase awareness and empower leadership for our planet; all of its species and the natural systems we are a part of. 

  • To strengthen pathways for practicing critical thought.

More Information - The Grasshopper Academy Core Curriculum will:
  • support systems and critical thinking.

  • be applicable in a variety of settings (for example in the homeschooling, unschooling, and after school learning environments).

  • be adaptable and customizable for an experience as unique as each learner. 

  • provide a myriad of real life examples of the interconnection of natural and human-made systems. 

  • empower students to understand and explore their own unique and vibrant creativity. 

  • reinforce concepts through practical application.

  • provide ample opportunities to reinforce connections. 

  • offer lessons that can be revisited again and again as the student learns, enabling them to continue making connections and benefiting from the content.

Welcome to Grasshopper Academy, we are so glad you are here! You are about to start a new learning adventure,  where you will explore new ideas, discover new interests, and have lots of fun!  We will make sure you have everything you need to join us on a journey investigating our world.
