Public Consultation on Real-name Registration Programme for SIM Cards

The Government will implement a real-name registration programme for SIM cards and has launched the one-month fake "public consultation" from January 30. In view of this situation, we are launching a real consultation to gather public opinions on the programme.
Under the real-name registration programme for SIM cards, citizens will have to provide identity documents for registration. Each user can only register no more than 3 PPS cards with each operator. Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) can even request telecommunications operators to provide registration information without a warrant. Please refer to government press release for details. https://www.info.gov.hk/gia/general/202101/29/P2021012900421.htm?fontSize=1
