Columbia Parks & Recreation is issuing a call traditional artisans and tradespeople to participate in the 46th Annual Heritage Festival and Craft Show on September 21 & 22, 2024!
Held at historic Nifong Park, this event is free to the public, shaded by gorgeous established tree canopy, and ADA accessible. Located adjacent to the Boone County History and Culture Center, this event attracts 10,000 visitors over the course of the weekend and has been a consistent place for families, friends, and community members to get together and enjoy a weekend of fun, food, history, and live entertainment!
Live musical performances take place on three different stages, at the Maplewood Barn Stage, one located on the north lawn of the Maplewood Home, and the Boonslick Stage, located under the tree canopy within the park. Performances include traditional forms of dance, music, storytelling, or other forms of stage performance that predate the 20th century. A variety of genres has been displayed at the festival including Bluegrass, Folk, Western, Blues, German, Country, African, and Irish. The event invites families to stay all day and experience the music, history, kids’ area, delicious food trucks, and tours of the Historic Maplewood Home and the Walters History Exhibit at the Boone County History and Culture Center.
