The Sharing Shelf is Westchester’s Clothing Bank for Children founded in 2009. We address clothing insecurity and meet basic materials needs such as new socks, underwear, diapers, hygiene products and period products. We do so by supporting nonprofits, schools, community organizations who place requests with us on behalf of their clients and students.

Our program was founded by a volunteer and relies on volunteers to achieve its mission.

We look forward to getting you involved.

To Get Started
Help us get to know you better by filling out this form.

Age guidelines:
  • Volunteers must be at least 14 years old to join us on-site in our Clothing Bank.
  • Volunteers 14-17 years old must be accompanied by their own parent who actively volunteers
Time Commitment
  • We ask for a minimum of 2 hours the first time you volunteer. This includes your training time. Once you have been trained, there is more flexibility. Our Director of Volunteers will explain this to you.
If you are looking for less than 5 hours of volunteering or you do not meet our age threshold, we suggest that you look at our menu of off-site opportunities. These are equally important to our work and help us address clothing insecurity and meet basic material needs in Westchester.  Follow this link.
