This summer experience will be nature based:
-Walking field trips
-Wacky water days on Wednesdays
-Hands on learning and experimenting
-Free Breakfast and lunch.

Housing the summer experience at Lake will help preschoolers with the transition to kindergarten. We have a low student to teacher ratio (8.1), and a hands-on experimental based program that will maximize the opportunities for oral language development and will build upon background knowledge for all students.

GUNNISON SUMMER EXPERIENCE STUDENT AND PARENT HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE that summer experience activities have inherent risks. Being aware that summer experience entails known and unknown risks or injury to myself and a risk or injury to spectators or third parties as a result of my action, I expressly agree, covenant and promise to accept and assume all responsibility and risk of injury, death, illness or disease, or damage to myself, to others or to my property arising from my participation in this activity. My participation in this activity is purely voluntary, no one is forcing me to participate, and I elect to participate in spite of the risks. I am adequately informed to make this decision. The undersigned acknowledge(s) that the above aforementioned activities and/or related instruction by Gunnison Summer Experience classes are inherently dangerous and that such activities carry risks of personal injury or death. The undersigned agree(s) to indemnify and hold harmless to Gunnison Summer Experience, class and/or instructors and RE1J Gunnison School District and it’s agents from any and all injuries, losses, and/or damages to the undersigned student, participant, or spectator arising by virtue of the equipment use by the students or participants and/or of the instruction rendered to the student or the participant or the undersigned.The undersigned acknowledges that he/she is in sound health while participating in any activity sponsored or provided by the organizations listed above and also to abide by any other rules regarding use of equipment by the above organizations. Or under 18 years of age in sound health and mind. Legal guardian or parent assumes responsibility for and all financial liability incurred due to the presence of the under 18 minor STUDENT.Behavioral Contract:I understand that my student will be held accountable to all rules and expectations set forth by Gunnison Elementary School for the duration of the 2023 Summer Experience. Any violation of these rules and expectations can result in dismissal from the 2023 Gunnison Summer Experience. Absolutely no medications will be administered by school staff while your child is attending the Summer Experience Program. If your child requires medication, a parent or guardian must administer. Basic First Aid procedures will be followed as needed. Emergency Services (911) will be utilized in the event of an emergency.
