Ferrisburgh Town Forest Volunteer Form
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for this exciting project! This spring, the Ferrisburgh Conservation Commission has enlisted the help of a group of NR 206 (Environmental Problem Solving and Impact Assessment) from the University of Vermont to update the Ferrisburgh Town Forest management plan. This is a big undertaking and we need your help!

Are you a naturalist or nature-enthusiast? Are you familiar with Vermont's tree and wildlife species? Join us for a few field days (Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays) in March and April to help collect forest inventory data and document any interesting finds while in the forest as part of our iNaturalist.org bioblitz. Tree identification skills are a bonus, but not required! Basic training on how to use forestry tools (e.g. DBH tapes, clinometers, long tapes, and angle gauges) and iNaturalist available at the start of the field day!

More information about field day logistics will be sent to those who register via this form. The current field day date is scheduled for Saturday March 19th (time TBD). More dates may be advertised depending on completion of survey points following the first field day.

*Note - The town forest is located in the Shellhouse Mountain area and does have some areas of steep terrain along with a small creek crossing.
