Welcome!
The Winthrop Singers is a student-run choir and not-for-profit dedicated to developing young students like you in singing classical choral music to a high standard. Our auditions are open to all university and TAFE students, regardless of what or where they study.

If you enjoy classical music, love to sing, and want to up your game as a musician, you have come to the right place! For over 15 years, The Winthrop Singers has provided young musicians with the opportunity to perform regularly, tour in WA and beyond, record albums, develop leadership skills, and generally have a fantastic time learning the ropes of choral music while serving the community.

We are a mixed choir, with places available for all voice types. We sing music from the Middle Ages to the present day. Our wonderful director Ann Clarke has directed choirs internationally and studied choral conducting at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey.

The choir rehearses on Monday evenings and performs on Thursday evenings during semester. The choir also engages in additional concerts and events throughout the year. Members are expected to be available for all engagements, some of which may be outside of our regular Monday/Thursday rehearsals - barring any extraneous circumstances.

Our auditions are usually held at the start of each university semester. If you have applied to audition outside of our intake period, your application will be put on a waiting list and you will be contacted before our next round of auditions.

For more information about auditions, please see "What should I expect in the audition?" in the FAQ on our website.
