OLW Youth Ministry Mission Trips 2022
For current freshman – young adults
Interest Registration for all trips beginning:  February 13, 2022 at Noon

Where:  Harlan, Kentucky & Chicagoland


Harlan Trips:  June 5-11th & July 10-16th $300 - 50 participants per trip
Includes Food, Transportation, Lodging, and Job Site Materials

-The Harlan mission trips we will be working to improve life in a small
area of the Appalachian Mountains by renovating homes, new construction, landscaping, and more.
We will be staying at the local Catholic church that will be provided by the organization we are working for, COAP (Christian Outreach to Appalachian People).  We are responsible for cooking and cleaning up after ourselves.


Impact Trip/Chicagoland: July 18 -22nd  $75 - 30 participants
Includes transportation & job site expenses

-The local mission trip is local day trips offering an opportunity to help different impact areas throughout Chicagoland! Together we will impact children, homeless, hungry, immigrants, refugees, seniors, and veterans. 40 hours of community service will be offered.


*Thank you for your interest in this summer's Mission Trips! As our plans continue to develop, we will keep you updated! Meanwhile, please mark your calendars and continue to pray for those that are in need during these difficult days.  This interest sign up will be used for our registration of these trips. Priority will be given to Youth Ministry Members and OLW parishioners.

**All programming will include safety protocols for COVID-19. Vaccine restrictions have been lifted by the Archdiocese of Chicago on 3-15-22.

***No payments will be collected today.  Registration Fee will be collected at a later date.

Dear Parents and Teens,

Happy New Year!  As 2022 begins, our Youth Ministry Program always looks ahead to begin preparation for our annual mission trips.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your consideration to join us this summer and share with you some information about our trips this year.

When considering the opportunity to participate in these experiences, there are some expectations I wish to share with you.  Although this will most likely be the best week of your summer, we cannot consider this trip a vacation.  This is a mission trip – our mission to be the hands and feet of Christ.  The only way we can do this is with team work and knowing that God is working through us!   As a result, we want nothing to stand in the way of our mission.  We must respect one another, and always lend a helping hand. Our behavior must reflect our mission as we represent Our Lady of the Woods Parish and its Youth Ministry Program.  As you would expect: alcohol, drugs, tobacco, weapons, and fireworks will not be tolerated.  Thank you in advance for doing all you can to keep our mission in your mind and heart.  

This week will be a learning experience. It will be a chance for you to learn a new trade or skill.  It’s an opportunity to learn the value of teamwork.   You will experience how other people live and meet individuals that you will carry in your heart forever.  Most importantly, you learn how it feels to do God’s work.
