Terms and Conditions
1. The “Studenten- en Jongerenvereniging voor Internationale Betrekkingen Amsterdam te Amsterdam (SIB-Amsterdam)” exonerates itself from any liability that has occurred or will occur from the Big Trip 2024.
2. This exclusion of liability is related to damage incurred during, or on the occasion of, the trip to the the countries of destination*, transportation within the Balkans, bodily injury, theft of one’s personal property and all other damage that manifests itself between departure and arrival in the Netherlands.
3. When a participant is denied access to the countries of destination on arrival for any possible reason, the participant will have to return to the Netherlands at their own expense. SIB-Amsterdam does not carry any responsibility in this situation.
4. SIB-Amsterdam has not taken out a collective travel insurance policy and advises all participants to do so themselves individually.
5. SIB-Amsterdam is a politically neutral association and will establish itself this way abroad. Manifestations or actions of any kind perpetrated by a participant that violates this political neutrality is strictly forbidden. SIB-Amsterdam will distance itself from this participant and all consequences of this politically motivated manifestation and/or action will be borne by the participant in question.
6. The participant must be aware of the local laws and must respect and obey these laws. Respecting the culture and norms of the countries we will visit, as the people and their tradition is essential to this trip.
7. SIB-Amsterdam follows the advice provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In case the following travel advices are given, SIB-Amsterdam will cancel the trip: “classificatie 5: Niet essentiële reizen worden afgeraden” or “classificatie 6: alle reizen naar dit gebied worden afgeraden”. SIB-Amsterdam retains the right to cancel this trip, change the route, or skip a destination whenever it considers this necessary (for instance, if SIB-Amsterdam is not able to get access to various institutions in the countries of destination).
8. Participants are responsible for all vaccinations, medication and visa requirements for this trip.
9. SIB-Amsterdam cannot accept any cancellations after registration for this trip when necessary for all participants. The participants are obliged to pay for expenses which have already been made for arranging the trip.
10. The price of this program is around 670 euros. If however, by any chance the prices of the transportation tickets or accommodation increase, there will be a additional fee charged after the trip. Regardless of how you travel to the different destinations, the full price is applicable for every participant.
11. All participants have to be a member of SIB-Amsterdam by the time of the trip.
*The countries of destination in question are Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia
