SCCC Youth Assessments 2019 (Boys)
The search for potential in Surrey continues with the 2019 Youth Assessments taking place initially in July (Phase 1), and again later in August and September (Phase 2).

It is from the 2019 Youth Assessments that players will have the opportunity to be selected into 2020 Performance winter-training groups at the U10s to U15s age groups; as well as involvement in the 2020 summer match programme.

The arrangements for the Phase 1 Assessments is as follows:

U10s, U11s & U12s Phase 1 Assessments
- Sunday 21 July 2019
- Thursday 25 July 2019
- Friday 26 July 2019

U13s Phase 1 Assessments
- Monday 22 July 2019

U14s Phase 1 Assessments
- Tuesday 23 July 2019

The Phase 1 Assessments are for NEW players to Surrey CCC, i.e. players not currently part of Surrey CCC's Performance Programmes.

Following completion of the Phase 1 Assessments we will hold Phase 2 Assessments, which will be aimed at:

- a number of players currently involved in the Performance Programmes *;
* these players do not need nominating by clubs or schools; Surrey CCC will invite appropriate players automatically
- a number of players who attended Phase 1 Assessments;
- new nominated players at the U15s age group (in 2020)

The arrangements for the Phase 2 Assessments is as follows:

U10s   Sunday 25 August 2019
U11s   Tuesday 27 August 2019
U12s   Wednesday 28 August 2019
U13s   Thursday 29 August 2019
U14s   Friday 30 August 2019
U15s   Sunday 1 September 2019

All age groups shown relate to the age group of the player in the 2020 season, i.e. U13s Phase 1 Assessments are for players who are currently U12s (in 2019 season).

All assessment sessions (Phase 1 and Phase 2) will be held indoors at the Surrey Cricket Centre, George Abbot School, Burpham, Surrey GU1 1XX.

There will be four assessment sessions available : 0900-1030; 1100-1230; 1330-1500; 1530-1700. Players should attend one assessment session; parents can book their preferred session (subject to availability). Once we have received a player's nomination we will make contact with the player's parent (via email) with information on how they can sign up for their preferred assessment session.

In order to attend a Phase 1 or Phase 2 Assessment session players must be nominated by a coach at their cricket club or school who feels the player demonstrates the abilities and potential to be included in Surrey CCC's Performance Programmes. We cannot accept nominations solely from a player's parent.

Note To Nominators:
Surrey CCC would encourage all nominators at their respective cricket clubs or schools to be robust in their understanding that the player does have the perceived potential to move into the Surrey CCC Player Pathway. Please contact us if you wish to discuss this further: performance@surreycricket.com.

Please submit the information required (further below). A separate submission must be made for each player being nominated.

Deadline:
Please submit completed nominations as follows -
- by Friday 12 July 2019 - for U10s to U14s
- by Friday 23 August 2019 for U15s

Note: These assessments are specific for boys cricket; Surrey CCC organizes Girls Assessments (from U10s to U17s); information about those arrangements will be circulated separately.

Eligibility:
A player cannot be involved in more than one county player pathway simultaneously. If a player being nominated is part of another county's pathway please indicate that in the relevant place on the nomination form and we will determine whether to involve him in our assessments at this moment.

Other Age-Group Assessment arrangements:
U9s Assessments (for players who will be U8s/U9s in 2020) will be held in April 2020 during the Easter school holidays. A separate nomination process exists for those assessments; if nominators have U7s/U8s players (in 2019) they wish to put forward, they can do so closer to April 2020. Further information will be circulated closer to then.

U16s to U18s Assessments (for players who will be U16s/ U17s or U18s in 2020) will be held later in the year. A separate nomination process exists for those assessments; if nominators have players in those age groups that they wish to put forward please email performance@surreycricket.com and we will circulate confirmed dates/arrangements in due course.
